    Cognitive Behavioral
    Therapy for Insomnia

An estimated 40 million Americans cope with insomnia each year. Chronic Insomnia can have a negative impact on your health and lower your quality of life. Effective treatment is crucial to getting the sleep needed.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) is recommended as the first line of treatment. CBTI is a structured program that helps an individual identify/replace thoughts and behaviors that cause or worsen sleep problem with habits that promote sound sleep. Unlike pharmaceutical interventions, CBT-I addresses the underlying caused of insomnia rather than simply relieving symptoms.

The Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia program at Advantage can help develop good sleep habits and avoid behaviors that keep a person from sleeping well. The program will include assessment, behavioral and cognitive interventions, motivational techniques and relapse prevention skills.
